Tracing Birds.
Are two shapes similar?
Our computer knows the answer
In order to measure
similarity between shapes,
we first match between the
contours that bound the shapes. We do it for quite dissimilar shapes. In
this example: for two different views of the same object. The algorithm does
not use any information but the occluding contour, and matches between
segments that are locally similar.
Watch the birdie
Watch how the contour grows along the related part of each bird.
